Turning The City Of Mumbai Into A Classroom For A Day
Less than half of India’s children attend school, and many who do drop out early due to a lack of teachers. To tackle this, Akanksha Foundation set out to prove that there’s a teacher in all of us.

On Teachers’ Day, Akanksha’s kids took classrooms to the streets, setting up blackboards and benches across Mumbai – at airports, malls, and more – to invite volunteers to teach.

The campaign inspired similar efforts, with Pakistan’s Citizens Charter replicating the idea
in their cities.
